Robinson's will be shipping in October 2010 - Now taking Pre-orders

PRE ORDERS: As of 8/28/10 the Credit Card link on this page is active. You can fill out a complete order at that time. These orders will be fulfilled starting in October in the order they were received. Your card will not be charged until the day your kit ships.

CREDIT CARDS: We take Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Unfortunately, we do not take AMEX any more. If you want to use AMEX, you can do so through PAYPAL. If you have a PAYPAL account, let us know and we can send you a PAYPAL invoice. See below for how Paypal will work this year.

PAYPAL: Instead of having a Paypal button we send a Paypal invoice at the customer's request. We acknowledge your request and then send the Invoice when we start shipping in October. We have this Pre-order policy because if we were to send you directly to Paypal, we would end up getting paid long before we are ready to ship - and we do not like to take your money before we ship!

...So, if you want to use the Paypal Pre-order option, send me an email or reply to my email and PLEASE INCLUDE THE NAME & EMAIL ADDRESS YOU USE FOR PAYPAL WITH YOUR REQUEST. We will acknowledge your request by email so you know your order has been received.

PHONE ORDERS: We won't be taking phone orders until October. We will start taking phone orders on the day shipping begins. Sorry, but prior to that date we are just too busy with preparation and packing to handle the phone, also. You will get another email announcing that shipping has commenced and then we will take phone orders.

CHECKS: Money orders and bank checks are fine until we start shipping. Once we start shipping we will take personal checks. We don't like to take personal checks prior to the October ship date because we don't deposit them until October - and that could potentially cause you confusion with your bank account.

We only have one kit available at a time/per year for sale. All previous kits are sold out and are not re-run. Our kits are not sold in stores and can only be ordered from South River modelworks. We take payment by check, money order, Mastercard, Visa and Discover . WE LIKE CHECKS! Please allow sufficient time for personal checks to clear. You can order on line using our secure server or call, write or fax your order. Do not use e-mail to send your credit card order! However, please feel free to e-mail us for any additional information, questions or concerns. Thank you!

Overseas customers are welcome. We generally ship by insured Air Mail. As costs vary greatly, we recommend that you please contact us first so that we can give you a quote on shipping costs. See below for additional information

ADDITIONAL SHIPPING INFORMATION for 2010-2011

ALL DOMESTIC SHIPMENTS IN THE LOWER 48 WILL BE BY UPS - WE WILL ONLY USE THE USPS FOR SHIPMENTS TO AK AND HI AT YOUR REQUEST AND AT EXTRA COST (SEE BELOW) UPS NOW HAS GROUND SHIPPING TO AK & HI WHICH IS CHEAPER.

For many reasons we do not use the USPS. Because of a substantial rate increase in USPS rates, we will be further limiting our domestic use of this service only to states where it is competitive with UPS - Alaska and Hawaii. Our 7 lb, 16" x14" x8" shipping carton falls under the "dimensional weight" category that USPS is now using. To ship a kit to AK or HI costs us $30.00! CANADIAN AND OVERSEAS ARE BY USPS AIRMAIL

FOR CANADA: There is a partnership with the Canadian Postal System and the USPS, so we will still ship to Canada by USPS. Currently, Our cost for a USPS 6lb., 12oz. insured airmail package to Canada is about: $32.00 for postage+insurance + $2.50 for packing materials. Next year I have to raise this fee. We are loosing money charging $30.00. While we can use UPS (United Parcel Service) whose rates are less, they charge Canadian customers a larger brokerage fee, which often negates any pricing advantage. However, keep in mind that, for example, UPS ground to Calgary would be about $20.00 for ground service and our 2009-2010 USPS fee is $30.00. So, you may want to use UPS if you are a business customer with an established relationship with UPS and have a brokerage alternative, or you have had an acceptable experience with their brokerage program. It is your choice - just let us know.

FOR OVEREAS: Similarly, we will be using the USPS Air Mail service for overseas shipments. As with all Canadian services, there have been prices increases, but at a more modest level the the domestic rates.

Some approximate sample rates for USPS Priority Mail International are: 50.00 to the U.K, Germany, France and Italy. $60.00 to Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Arrival times (to the Customs service of the destination country) range from 6-10 days. Express mail, which has better tracking is available for about $10.00-12.00 additional. Arrival times (to the Customs service of the destination country). are reduced to 3-6 days. We want your kit to arrive quickly and safely so we will make a recomendation for you on a case by case basis.

PLEASE NOTE: For all overseas orders that are placed from our on-line system - your shipping charges will be calculated and sent for your review/approval before processing your order. Total charges will not be billed to your card until the day we ship your kit.

SHIPPING SCHEDULE

With all UPS Domestic shipments, your order will be shipped Monday-Friday, For the first few weeks after the introduction of a new kit, there can be up to a 5-6 (working) day delay before your order ships. Otherwise, orders ship within 24 hours.

Canadian and overseas shipments are sent on Saturdays during the busy season ( October through November)
